The Town of Silt is a vibrant, close-knitted community located on Interstate-70 about 67 miles east of Grand Junction, Colorado and 25 miles to the west of Glenwood Springs, Colorado.  The Silt Police Department is dedicated to providing the highest quality of police services to its growing population of over 3,015 citizens.  In addition to providing police protection to the residents of Silt, the police department provides assisting services to the New Castle Police Department, the Garfield County Sheriffs Department, Colorado State Patrol, and the Rifle Police Department.

The philosophy of the Silt Police Department covers several ideologies.  As a department, we believe in Education and Enforcement over Punishment.  We believe in the "Golden Rule" Theory.  We practice the 100% Rule.  Finally, we apply the concept of "Quality" not "Quantity".

Not only does the Silt Police Department uphold the laws of the State of Colorado, but we focus a significant amount of our time on Community Policing.  The department spends time at Cactus Valley Elementary School, holds a Bicycle Rodeo every year, hosts a Jr. Police Academy, and organizes many other community activities.

The Silt Police Department also works closely with the County Drug Task Force Team, AHRT (All Hazards Response Team), and TAG (Threat Assessment Group).
